Pink B'Cause
Pink B'Cause
Our Story
Pink B’Cause was started in June 2009 by four breast cancer survivors. All of the survivors had experienced and recognized the need to help newly diagnosed breast cancer patients deal with the many questions about an uncertain future.
The group’s idea was to send a package of helpful information, along with inspirational and comforting items to a newly diagnosed patient. The idea originated with one of the survivors who had received multiple packages of encouragement from her college roommate during her breast cancer journey.
We have also developed a package to help those women going through ovarian cancer. To accomplish our mission we need patients’ names and addresses and a way to fund the project. We initially received referrals from doctors. We now receive many referrals from friends who have learned about our mission. The cost of assembling and mailing the packages is mostly covered by the sale of greeting cards, which we handcraft ourselves.
We also participate in fund raising events. With the help of friends and family we have been able to send over 1,211 packages to newly diagnosed breast or ovarian cancer patients.
The name Pink b’cause, was chosen because we love pink.
